2017-18 CFA Futsal Super League Ends with Shenzhen Nanling Tielang FC Claiming the Title

July 22 saw the last day of the Luxing Cup Jining Tournament of the 2017-2018 CFA Futsal Super League (CFSL) where the top two teams, Shenzhen Nanling Tielang and Dalian Puqu, faced their rivals respectively.

In the end Shenzhen beat Shanghai Xufang with 4-1 while Dalian suffered a 0-1 defeat by Zhuhai Mingshi Huafa.

Shenzhen and Shanghai rivaled in the first match.

Before the final tournament, Shenzhen was only ahead of Dalian by one point in the ranking, and the result of the match could be a game changer in the title race.

Shanghai took the lead as Yun Zhihai (No. 20) scored a goal at the 4th minute after the opening whistle.

But Shenzhen did not lose their cool because of the early conceded goal. While they tightened their defense, they also made it hard for Shanghai getting a smooth pass by their pressing tactics.

In the 10th minute, Shenzhen's Lu Yue (No. 10) had a sizzling shot after passing the defender with a sideways movement, tying the score.

Shenzhen's attack continued as Huang Jiafu (No. 13) notched the second goal for his team when the first half was about to end, helping Shenzhen going to the second half with a lead.

In the 31th minute of the second half, a wrong pass of Shanghai gave Shenzhen another chance which was taken by Lu Yue, making it 3-1 with a fine volley.

In the 37th minute Gu Haitao (No. 11) scored a final goal and Shenzhen secured a 4-1 win.

This win allows the Shenzhen team claimed the CFSL 2017-18 season title with 68 points.

Dalian faced Zhuhai in the second match. However, Dalian's bid for the league champion ended ahead of the game because Shenzhen seized a win in the first match.

In the 4th minute, Dalian's Wang Jiahao (No. 16) scored the first goal, helping his team taking the lead.

Three minutes later, Chen Weijun (No. 19) evened the score for Zhuhai with a shot in the box.

In the 7th minute Dalian grasped a counter-attack opportunity and Li Zhiheng (No. 5) nailed a goal at the back post.

But Zhuhai answered it as Pierre (No. 10) scored the second equalizer.

In the 31st minute of the second half, the strike from Li Shunying (No. 14) helped Zhuhai lead again.

In the 35th minute, the tie was settled again by a drive from Dalian's Shen Siming (No. 6) from the edge of the penalty area.

Dalian committed the sixth foul in the closing minutes, which gave a spot kick to Zhuhai while its player Bruno scored in the shootout.

In the end Zhuhai squeezed a 4-3 win over Dalian in their last match of the CFSL 2017-18 season.

After the two games CFA Executive Committee Member and Futsal and Beach Soccer Commission Director Zhao Shaoming, CFA Social Football Department Director Li Jiuquan, CFA Social Football Department Senior Supervisor Wen Lirong and other guests presented the awards to the champion and runner-up of the CFSL 2017-18 season.

Shenzhen Nanling Tielang held the trophy high as a 5-time CFSL title winner and qualified the 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championship. Dalian Puqu who got stunned in the final match finished the season runner-up. Zhuhai Mingshi Huafa and Wuhan Sanxia Dilong claimed the third and fourth places respectively. The promoted Guangdong Yingde finished fifth, ahead of Qingdao Impulse Fitness-Chenxi, Inner Mongolia Xuelang and Shanghai Xufang.

Henan Xinda and Xinjiang XJNU-Anqila were the two bottom-placed teams, ninth and tenth respectively, and were going to play a play-off match on July 23 to decide which team can keep its place in the CFSL for the next season.

The CFSL 2017-18 season concluded as the final rankings were set.

The next season of CFSL will introduce two more teams in the league. The influx of new forces will present a more heated top-class futsal league in China. Let us keep following the CFSL and the ongoing development of China's futsal.
